2015 Youth Conference Pictures

What a great youth conference! That was an event never to be forgotten. Bro. Erekson from the Vicksburg Ward took a lot of pictures of the whole event. He has posted them for us. They will only be up for a few months as they take up a lot of space.

Here is what he said:
I have uploaded 318 of the best pictures I took at Youth Conference to a Google Plus Photo Album and also to a Picasaweb album. Feel free to view and download any or all (about 780 MB) of the photos. I will leave the photos up as long as possible, hopefully at least 6 months. However, due to space limitations I will remove them at some point.

Feel free to share the link with any other youth or leaders.

Enjoy!

Little Philmont Training

We have an upcoming Little Philmont conference! This is an exciting event designed to help anyone in any sort of way associated with scouting in the Church be more familiar with the scouting program, why we use it, and how we make it work well for us.

 When is Little Philmont?

February 7th, 2015
7:30am - 3:30pm
Jackson Stake Center in Clinton, MS

How do I register?

What is Little Philmont?

Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico is the site of several premier scout leader training courses every year. Two weeks out of every summer (two sessions, one week each), the Church holds Priesthood Leadership Training at Philmont Scout Ranch, where the General Young Men Presidency and General Primary Presidency train Stake Presidencies in using Scouting in conjunction with the priesthood. Those Stake Presidencies are then encouraged to take what they learn back to their stakes and hold a "Little Philmont" - a one or two day conference about how Scouting fits with the Church and the priesthood. This is done under the direction of the Young Men General Presidency. In fact, I have heard there is often a member of the Young Men General Presidency, as well as members of the Board at the Little Philmont.

Who should attend a Little Philmont?

Everyone! Little Philmont is for anyone with a Scout-related calling, from direct contact leaders to committee members, Cubs through Venturing. It is for Young Men and Primary presidencies on both the stake and ward level. It is for bishoprics and parents of scouts. And, of course, commissioners serving LDS units would find it helpful. It is for anyone who could benefit from a better understanding of how the priesthood and Scouting fit together and why the Lord has asked us to use this program to raise His young men and train them to be missionaries (and beyond).

Lindsey Stirling Live Facebook Event

Participate in a live event Tuesday, November 25 at 6:30 p.m. MST featuring world-famous LDS entertainer Lindsey Sterling. Don’t dress up or buy a ticket. You can participate wherever you are!
Streaming live to the LDS Youth Facebook pageYouTube, or the Mormon Channel, this event will also be hosted in three languages (English, Spanish and Portuguese)!
Lindsey Stirling is a dancing, hip hop violinist, a returned missionary, and a self-made success story. Youth around the world will have a chance to ask Lindsey questions, moderated by Young Men general president David L. Beck and Young Women general president Bonnie L. Oscarson. Elder Beck said of the event, “Elder Bednar has challenged all of us to “share goodness”—to use social media to flood the earth with goodness and truth. This Face to Face event is just one way we are trying to follow that counsel.”

Lindsey will share her own story—including how she learned to recognize her worth, how she shares the gospel, and how she has risen above criticism to make a unique contribution to the world. Lindsey will also perform on her violin.
